Hello From Gstaad!
To All Manka Bros. Employees:
It's a beautiful day here in Gstaad. My chateau has never looked better. The parties have been constant, the holiday cheer has been flowing. Before Mick and Keith (and the girls) get here, I would like to take a moment to reflect on the past year.
2007 was a challenging year to say the least. It was full of lows and even more lows - but there were a couple of highs. For example, I just closed escrow on a multimillion Euro apartment along the Seine in Paris. From that apartment I will write a spy novel for Manka Books (for which I received the largest advance in the history of Manka Books). So I'm very excited about this opportunity.
As for the lows - there were many. I don't believe one of our 2007 films worked this year (correct me if I'm wrong in the "Comments" Lloyd). The good news on this is that with the writer's strike still going on, we won't be producing any films at all which means we won't have any bombs. On the television side, all our shows sucked. I really thought "Severed Fingers" was going to do better.
Whatever. It's the holidays and I'm getting drunk in Switzerland.
I would appreciate anyone who is not going to be with family and friends this holiday season to come into the office and get to work on making 2008 the best year ever at Manka Bros.!
My father, the great Harry Manka, said it best: "Get to work or you ass is grass!"
