Anyone notice that this film didn't screen for critics? How do not screen a Richard Gere, Wynonna Ryder romantic drama for critics? How terrible must this movie be?"He fell in love for the first time. She fell in love forever." Great. Thanks for telling me she dies. IP: Logged |

Joan Chen has the worst agent in town. She had a little buzz after "The Sent Down Girl" movie - but needed more nurturing - this flop will make it next to impossible for her to get another deal - at least another studio deal.IP: Logged |

It'll do about $10 million this weekend. Much more than I thought considering this is supposed to be a really bad movie.IP: Logged |

Doesn't matter how much it sucks - and I'm sure it does. Doesn't matter if it turned out to be a FANTASTIC movie. I would refuse to see it just because I will NOT buy 50 year old Richard Gere and 20-something Ryder.I don't care if there are real people like this, I'm just tired of seeing it in movies. I don't even buy him as STRAIGHT anymore, let alone dating her... IP: Logged |

Don't buy it? But HE fell in love for the first time, SHE fell in love forever. Doesn't that mean anything? It's not those actors fault that those characters found each other. It just happened. It's real. And who wants to see Richard Gere and Maureen Stapleton?IP: Logged |

There is a scene in this film in which Richard Gere recites Emily Dickinson. It is truly one of the funniest (in a bad way) scenes ever put on film. And when he tries to show emotion and cry you can almost get the sense that he's adjusting his jock strap while he does it. It's like there's other things on his mind but he really thinks he's doing the job. "Look at me, ma, I'm actin', here!" Why is it I'll cry at a phone commercial but here, they had over 2 hours of sap and nothing. If you must see this piece of shit, see it really late at night to avoid the lonely and old crowd.IP: Logged |

If you have the option of sitting outside and sweating miserably in the 100 degree heat or going into the nice air conditioned movie theater and seeing this movie, take the heat and misery. Name something really terrible and then weight it against this film, and almost all of the terrible options will be the better choice.IP: Logged |
