What a terrific finale. I thought the first hour was the better of the two. It was quiet and emotional. I found Rico's reaction to David coming out to be realistic. There are far more homophobic people like Rico than there are like the gay bashers or protestors. People who are basically good and decent and would never deliberately brutalize some random person. But they believe that it's wrong to be gay and that people who have same sex relationships are going to go to hell. It's the "hate the sin not the sinner" mentality. I was actually glad that they chose someone like Rico to show this side of homophobia. David's speech in the church would have worked much better for me if it hadn't been a virtual replay of the speech he gave in Vegas. At least no one in the congregation took him out to see strippers. Big big ratings for Sunday night's finale. Much bigger than any Sex and the City episode. It's starting to rival The Soprano's in terms of ratings.IP: Logged |

I would imagine the subject of death will be slightly more serious on this show. I know occassionally they had a silly death and the mortuary would be sort of comical. AT this very sensitive time, I would imagine there will be a tone shift for a few episodes.IP: Logged |

A great surprise for this show tonight. A big upset that will really help this show in the ratings. And it deserves it.IP: Logged |
