It was billed as the "can't miss episode of Glee" this season, but the conclusion of the much-hyped Madonna episode went MIA for DVR owners. Because of an American Idol overrun Tuesday night, many viewers watching Glee on DVR saw the show cut off before the climax, the cast's performance of Like a Prayer featuring a large gospel choir. Viewers grumbled last year about Idol overruns that cut short recording of the shows that followed the singing competition but nothing compares to the interruption of Fox's most-promoted scripted hour this season, written and directed by Ryan Murphy no less. Glee fans took to Twitter to voice their anger and frustration. A fan site, gleetastic.com, was quick to get the Like a Prayer video up, while the official Fox Web site only offered promos for the episode as well as the Sue Sylvester Vogue music video.

I'm not sure how I feel about last night's Glee episode. Part of me thinks it may have Jumped the Shark with the Madonna episode even though a lot of people loved it.

From a doctor to a dentist - ER star John Stamos is in negotiations to join red-hot Fox musical dramedy Glee in a heavily recurring role next season. He will play a new love interest for lovable OCD guidance councelor Emma Pillsbury (Jayma Mays). In tonight's freshman season finale of Glee, SPOILER ALERT Emma will tell on-and-off flame Will Schuester (Matthew Morrison) that she is dating a dentist. That is the character that Stamos will play next season.

UPDATE: Two Gleeks who commented on the story noted Emma Pillsbury’s Stamos quip in Episode 3: “They say it takes certainty more than talent to make a star – I mean, look at John Stamos." I wonder if she spots the resemblance...

Stamos, repped by WME and Brillstein Entertainment, has a solid Broadway resume, which includes roles in Cabaret, Nine, How To Succeed In Business Without Really Trying and, most recently, Bye Bye Birdie. In primetime, he most recently starred on NBC's ER, on which he played paramedic-turned-intern Tony Gates.

After tonight's season finale, I'll have no more shows to watch until the fall. Maybe I'll read.

'Glee' finale watched by nearly 11 million viewers

The finale of Glee on Tuesday lured nearly 11 million viewers and finished the year as the highest-rated season-ender for all freshman series, according to preliminary ratings. The drama posted a 4.6 rating/12 share in adults 18-49 – up 18 percent from last week - and was up 21% in total viewers. Fox says the finale also represented the show’s highest-rated telecast without a lead-in from American Idol.

No doubt this show wins the Emmy for best comedy - even though I would never really call it a comedy.

Eh... the season premiere was okay. I think they had too much time to prepare. It was too polished.
