The L.A. production of Wicked is amazing. Very excellent cast, especially Eden Espinosa as Elphaba.

It's good. Not great. A few good songs. I think our standards are so low that we love anything that is just "good".

I agree about the songs. Overrated there. But the production itself in L.A. is terrific. With a great cast.

I saw this last night. It was very entertaining though a bit long. A lot of stuff repeated over and over.

Wicked: The Movie?

Smash-hit Broadway musical Wicked is set to become the latest stageshow to be turned into a major movie.

Hot on the heels of Chicago, Hairspray and Mamma Mia!, the Wizard of Oz-related musical is to be turned a new Universal film, with producers Marc Platt and Stephen Schwartz.

But Universal boss Donna Langley insists fans will have to wait some time to see the film - because Platt and Schwarz are determined to take their time to ensure the movie repeats the success of the New York show that inspired the project.

Langley tells Variety magazine, "Our goal now is absolutely to make the Wicked film, but... Marc and Stephen Schwartz are very mindful of the right timing. But we're dying to do it."

Platt is currently working on the movie version of the musical Nine, starring Nicole Kidman, Daniel Day-Lewis and Penelope Cruz.

Chenoweth Writes Memoir

Actress/singer Kristin Chenoweth is the latest celebrity to write about her own life in a forthcoming memoir.

The Pushing Daisies star will discuss growing up as an adopted child, her rise to fame, and her starring role in hit Broadway show Wicked in the book, titled A Little Bit Wicked: Life, Love, and Faith in Stages.

Chenoweth says the project will focus on "how I got where I am so far".

The book is scheduled to hit shelves in April.

This Just In: Glee Officially Gets Wicked!

Glee: Guess who's paying a little ol' visit to the set of our favorite musical sensation today? Idina Menzel! Lea Michele (Rachel) took no time at all to tweet that Wicked's other leading lady (Kristin Chenoweth has already appeared) is on the set of Glee today. "So happy she's on our show," gushed Lea. The cast is shooting the Madonna episode this week, so does that mean Idina might bust out a Material Girl hit? Not so fast, the show's Fox rep tells me they are actually shooting two episodes this week, and Idina is in the non-Madonna one.
