Whatever.

Okay, two comments...

1) Who cares? Whatever they want to say about it (even if it's nothing) should be enough.

2) Not exactly on topic, but... If it is religion (doubtful, but again who cares?), more's the pity. Both of those religions have a major flaw by which to raise children(well, many flaws, but this one in particular): it's all about money.

Catholicism has you pay money for the forgiveness of your "sins". (Yes, I know -- now it's about confession and prayers as penance with a passing of the basket for donations. This only came about from critisism of the practise of paying money and saying prayers for your forgiveness. Just as your 'penance' of prayer is now based on the extend of the 'sins' you confess, it used to be that the amount you had to pay was also based on those 'sins'.)

Scientology has you pay money in order to recieve the "secrets" of spirituallity.

Both of these concepts are so fucking idiotic that I still fail to understand how any semi-intelligent being could buy into them.

Just saw a couple of related short pieces. First one from today's Studio Briefing says that the Church of Scientoloty is urging Kidman and Cruise to reconcile.

"The Church of Scientology is urging Nicole Kidman and Tom Cruise to invite a church advocate into their home to save their marriage."

"...the Scientologist's bible The Scientology Handbook, written by L. Ron Hubbard, advises them not to give up on their relationship and to write down their problems and resentments. It states, "One way to alleviate this condition is to have the husband and wife write up their overts on and withholds from their marital partner." It continues, "Another answer to restore a high level of communication between marital partners is Scientology Marriage Counselling. This is provided by a Scientology auditor. A husband and wife can utilize good, honest communication between themselves to create and continue a happy, fulfilling marriage.""

Meanwhile, George Clooney is denying reports that he had anything to do with Tom and Nicole's breakup. According to reports, after Kidman presented Clooney with a Golden Globe at last month's ceremony the two appeared to be "very friendly" backstage.

I understand your frustration with the fonts -- those words should be at least 38 pt. I wonder what would happen if there was a huge media blitz campaign -- radio, television, skywriters, billboards.... and all it says (you here it everywhere you go)is:

"Scientology was made up by a

SCIENCE FICTION WRITER!!!"

What does Scientology say about one of the people in the marriage being gay? Do they have a special counselor for that?

Exactly. You can't fix a marriage in which the wife suddenly decides she doesn't want to be married to a gay man anymore. She wants a little action and top Hollywood hunks are lining up to deliver the goods. And I actually heard a story that L. Ron Hubbard and Isaac Asimov had a bet that they could create a religion that people would follow. Hubbard won the bet. Asimov, I think, made his attempt with the I Robot series.

Here's an interesting thing to pop up in one of these Tom and Nicole articles. One is questioning whether he'll get the tattoo on his butt removed that reads "TNN" (stands for "Tom and ('n) Nicole"). I would have thought the Nashville Network adopting that as their call letters years ago would have decided that question. Who would want "The Nashville Network" tattooed on their ass?

It's The National Network now. It's not just for country folk anymore. It's now got NASCAR AND wrestling. Tom should not deal with laser removal. He should just start dating a guy named Nick now. That would solve the problem.
