Manka Highbrow Acquires "Magic Fury"

Burbank, Calif., March 18, 2011/PRNewswire/ -- Manka Bros. specialty division, Manka Highbrow, is proud to annouce its acquisition of the cutting edge festival fave "Snuffing Out The Magic Fury". The story of the near-tragic downfall of alt-rocker Shiv Treacle (founding member of the band Vulva), the film has engaged and perplexed audiences worldwide.

"We're very excited about finally getting our hands on this one," said Robin Rafe, President of Manka Bros. Theatrical Group, who struck a midnight deal with the film's producers following a screening at the Debrecen International Cheese and Film Festival. "It will prove to be a challenge for our marketing department. But they've never backed down from a challenge!"

Despite financing the film outright, and seeing to it that their biggest-selling Christian artists 'Tween Jesus n' Me appeared in the film, Manka Bros. had not yet secred the U.S. distribution rights for "Magic Fury." "An oversight," said Rafe. "Not sure how that happened. But we have it now!"

Manka HIghbrow reportedly paid mid-six figures to acquire the rights. Producers Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen brokered the deal on behalf of the film's production team.
