January 17th is Muhammed Ali day in Los Angeles? Was up with that? What's with all these people jumping on the Ali bandwagon the last 5 or so year? Sure, he was a great boxer and did a lot of social good in the process. But I think the key is the Parkinsons. Ever since it became known he was ill all sorts of people started jumping on the deify Ali bandwagon. Lame. Let people beat beat you senseless, live long enough, get a disease, and Los Angeles will dedicate a day to you.

More funny to me about the whole thing is that events or people are only interesting in L.A. if there is a movie coming out about those subjects.

And now he gets a star on the Walk of Fame? What's the world coming to? It was bad enough when they gave one to Fabian!

I just wish the movie would have gotten into his DeCon 4-Gone and Roach Motel years.

Muhammad Ali's Health Fading

Boxing legend Muhammad Ali is losing his on-going battle with Parkinson's Disease, according to his daughter Laila Ali. The 63-year-old, dubbed The Greatest, was diagnosed with the disease 20 years ago, and is slowly slipping away from his family. Boxer Laila, 27, explains, "It is painful for me because I would love to sit down and talk to my dad about the way he used to be when he was my age, when he was in his prime, because we are so much alike. I can't really do that. I can't share a lot of things with him. I feel like the disease is progressing. Different things start happening as you get older. I have noticed a change in him, something that goes along with Parkinson's. He has his good days and his bad days. He's taking a lot of different medications. Sometimes, his speech is so slurred, you can't hardly understand him. But he definitely knows what's going on. That's for sure. He sees everything." Ali is currently undergoing therapy for neck and back problems at his home in Berrien Springs, Michigan. His manager Howard Bingham adds, "Laila feels she is slowly losing him."

Muhammad Ali Sells Marketing Rights Tue Apr 11, 3:32 PM ET

Muhammad Ali, one of the world's most recognized people, has sold 80 percent of the marketing rights to his name and likeness to a firm for $50 million.

The 64-year-old former heavyweight champion, who suffers from Parkinson's disease, will retain a 20 percent interest in the business. The new venture will be operated by a company called G.O.A.T. LLC, an acronym for "The Greatest of All Time."

Ali and wife Lonnie are expected to work with CKX, Inc. to market his interests around the world. The deal includes trademarks owned by the boxing great.

"This relationship with CKX will help guarantee that, for generations to come, people of all nations will understand my beliefs and my purpose," Ali said in a statement issued Tuesday by the company. "I am honored to be able to partner with CKX as they continue to grow."

CKX has concentrated primarily on entertainment and holds the rights to the IDOLS television brand, which includes the show "American Idol." It also holds the rights to Elvis Presley's marketing, and has an interest in the operations of Graceland, Presley's Memphis, Tenn., home.
